2 years ago I participated in a fundraiser...proceeds to benefit the homeless.

The Key Note Speaker was a Rabbi and within the first paragraph of her presentation she asked why we were building so many homeless shelters when we should really be preventing homelessness.

I've thought about this statement over the last couple of years and used it as sort of an analogy for several different scenarios.

For example, the Health Care Epidemic...

Did you know that more people die from chronic illnesses than contagious diseases in this country?

It then stands to reason that the many medical facilities being built are in response to the growing number of chronic illnesses which are mostly preventable with simple lifestyle changes.

Are we perpetuating this epidemic by building so many medical facilities?

Are we perpetuating this epidemic by only allowing Health Insurance to be used for Alopathic medicine?

Is this perpetuating the complacency with our own health?

This complacency has contributed to the epidemic enabling the Pharmaceutical Industry to continue  capitalizing on our ill health by providing 'their' solution disguised as HealthCare.

Alopathic or mainstream medicine is necessary for trauma/emergencies and a handful of contagious diseases each requiring an immediate call to action.

However, these methods only treat the symptoms of chronic illnesses.

This is not Health Care....It is disease management.

As long as we remain on the drug, symptoms will be kept under control and the residual income continues to contribute to Big Pharma's bottom line.

When we pay insurance premiums in exchange for low copays, prescriptions and 'wellness' visits we are then presented with a choice as a solution to a chronic illness.....prescriptions or maintaining our own health.

Choose the former and the Pharmaceutical Industry will be more than happy to accommodate us to the tune of 242 billion dollars annually in this country. 'We The People', are the payee.

Choose the latter and we take our power back.

Chronic illnesses are reversible, if addressed in time, and in most cases preventable but each requires a lifestyle change.

And the definition of insanity?
Doing the same thing over and over hoping to get a different result.

Clearly a paradigm shift is needed here.

Resolution vs Solution
Proactive vs Reactive
HealthCare vs SickCare
Farmaceutical vs Pharmaceutical

Sylvia Anton with The Holistic Garden has been coaching me for a year about adequate supplementation to my meal plan.

After assessing my current health, during a Health History Assessment, recommendations were made to assist me in providing the most effective solution(s) while taking into consideration my lifestyle and what comfortably fits into my schedule so that I can continue to commit the progression of my own health to myself.

Over the past year this is the only change I have made so there is no doubt in my mind, my improved blood work is due to the supplements Sylvia has recommended along with her careful guidance.

Thank you, Sylvia, for your Health Coaching, guidance and care.
